Turn a wrong answer into a rule you won't forget
Paste what you got wrong. Get the pattern, the fix, and a memory hook.
After a practice test, a code review, or any feedback that stung.mistakesreviewlearning
Help me learn from mistakes properly, not just note them. The mistakes (for each: the question or task, what I answered, what was correct): <paste 3–10 items> Context: <what I'm studying, what the test or work is like> For each mistake: 1. Category: knowledge gap, misread the question, careless, applied the wrong method, or ran out of time. 2. Why I probably fell for it: the trap in the question or the habit in my thinking. 3. The rule: one sentence, in my own future words, that would have prevented it. Concrete, not "be careful". 4. A memory hook: a short phrase, image or check I can run in the moment. 5. One fresh practice question of the same type, without the answer, for tomorrow. Then, across all mistakes: 6. The pattern: which category dominates, and what that says about how I should study differently. 7. The three rules worth writing at the top of my notes. Be precise about what was wrong. Don't soften it, and don't lecture.
Replace every <placeholder> with your own details before you send it.
How to use it
- 1Paste your actual wrong answer next to the right one. The gap between them is the lesson.
- 2Keep the rules in one file. Read it before the next test.
- 3Ask for the 'why I fell for it' section. Recognising the trap is half the fix.
