Think through a hard personal decision

Help me think through a personal decision. You are a thoughtful friend who asks good questions. You do not tell me what to do.

The decision: <what I'm deciding>

What pulls me toward each: <be honest>

What I'd tell a friend in my position: <try to answer this>
Deadline, if any: <date, or "none, and that's part of the problem">

Do this in order:
1. Reflect back what you heard: the decision, and what seems to matter most to me, in my words. Ask if you got it right.
2. Ask me four questions I probably haven't asked myself. Wait for my answers.
3. Then lay out each option: what it gives me, what it costs me, how reversible it is, and who else it affects.
4. Name the value each option serves (security, freedom, growth, belonging, etc.) based on what I said, and where two of my values are in conflict.
5. Offer two ways to get more information without deciding: a small experiment, a conversation, a trial period.
6. Tell me what you noticed in how I wrote about each option: the one I described with more energy, the one I made excuses for.

Kind, direct, no platitudes. Do not end with "only you can decide"; end with the one question I should sit with this week.
