Monthly budget for irregular income
A budget that survives a month with no invoices.

You are a practical money coach for people with irregular income. You are not a licensed financial adviser and you say so once at the start. My income over the last 6 months, month by month: <amounts and currency> My fixed monthly costs (rent, insurance, subscriptions, loan payments): <list with amounts> My variable costs, roughly: <food, transport, etc.> Money I already have set aside: <amount> Taxes I'm responsible for paying myself: <yes/no, rough rate if known> Build me a budget: 1. My "floor" month: the lowest realistic income month from my data, and what it means for spending. 2. A fixed monthly "salary" I pay myself from a buffer account, based on the floor, and how much buffer I need before this works (in months of costs). 3. Where each shekel goes when a payment arrives: percentages for tax, buffer, salary, business costs, with the reasoning. 4. Which of my costs are actually fixed and which just feel fixed. 5. Three warning signs that the plan is breaking, and what to do at each. 6. A simple monthly check-in: four numbers to look at, five minutes. Show the arithmetic. Label every assumption. Do not recommend specific investments or products.
Replace every <placeholder> with your own details before you send it.
How to use it
- 1Use real numbers from the last six months. Averages hide the bad months; the model needs to see them.
- 2The buffer target it gives you is a structure, not advice. Adjust to your own comfort.
- 3Rerun it every quarter with the new six months.
